Interviewer: Are you now a better cook?

Helena: oh, infinitely better, yeah. I must say i’m almost a compulsive buyer of cookbooks but I don’t necessarily get to cook all that often just because of time. It’s that thing of having kids, just when you want to get round to the cooking, you’re having to bath them and do the stories and everything so the food gets compromised by the length of the story. But maybe you could put that in your next book Nige - How do you cook with getting them to bed and the timings. You do bath then you put things in the oven but then the thing is the putting the thing in the oven then it has to be ready by the time you’ve done one chapter of narnia. Then you come down and it’s burnt and Tim looks at me like, you know and i’m like ‘well you do the story or you do the cooking’.
